It’s the end of the 9 to 5 as we know it. Is your #flexspace ready?
Even if you’re reintegrating back onto your office team or transitioning into a new role, it’s clear that the work from home routine is now our new normal. Fortunately less is more when it comes to setting up a flex space, since most projects can be accomplished digitally on a computer device. So, it’s easier than ever to turn any spare room or a small corner into your permanent home office with these simple hacks:
Choose a location that allows for at least some privacy, boosting concentration and productivity even if you still see and hear homelife activity. A smaller desk is efficient and fits most home environments. Pair with a compact comfortable chair and simple task lighting, and you’re halfway there!
Consider where you’ll be able to do conference calls and video sessions.Your background is most important so purge any distracting decor or too-personal possessions and replace with a few pleasing, neutral accessories so your space is always set up and ready to go.
Incorporate elements you find soothing, inspiring and joyful so your worktime feels pleasant not punishing. Start with one neutral color to define the space and add favorite touches sparingly. If it wouldn’t work in an office cubicle, it’s not needed here.
Function trumps form, so be sure you have the basics – dedicated phone chargers, computer ports, trash can and anything that helps get the job done.
